On Monday, I attended a reception and screening of “The Jinx – The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst” held at HBO corporate headquarters in NYC. It's a six-part documentary series produced and directed by Andrew Jarecki and Marc Smerling.

My son Kenny accompanied me to HBO, and there we spent some time talking to other cast and crew members; co-composer West Thordsen, music supervisor Susan Jacobs, video editor Zac Stuart-Pontier and music editor Suzana Peric to name just a few. (By the way, West has been working tirelessly since March of 2014 and is the main composer on this project. I was brought in at the beginning of last October to help out.) We also had a chance to share a few words with Andrew and Marc, who are excited about the series and had some complimentary things to say about the music. (That's Andrew next to me in the photo below.)

After the reception, we filed into a very comfortable screening room where we were treated to a screening of Episodes One and Two. They looked and sounded great! I am thrilled to have my music be a part of this very cool documentary series.

The first episode will air at 8 pm on Sunday, February 8th on HBO and the following five episodes will air on consecutive Sundays following the first episode.

To avoid getting stuck in the 2nd major snowstorm of 2015 in Boston, I had traveled down a day early and was able to take a side trip to the Museum of Modern Art and see the Matisse “The Cut-Outs” exhibit. It was definitely worth it!
